The goal of our Research and Development program at Cookies One Log is to consistently create unique, high-quality genetics. A crucial part of this continuous cycle is the dialed process of seed development and selection from our breeding projects.
1. Early Seed Production
Cookies current work involves creating new genetic crosses. After pollination, this next stage focuses on the early development of seeds resulting from specific breeding projects. The goal is to create a new generation of seeds that carries the desired traits from the selected parent plants.
2. Harvest and Selection
After the seeds are harvested, they go through a rigorous selection process. The bulk seeds are sifted to isolate only the best-developed. This is a critical quality control step. The selected seeds are then labeled with their genetic information and placed into secure storage for the next phase of the program.
3. Identifying Potential Keepers
Each seed is a unique phenotype and represents a world of potential. Any one of these could become a future ‘keeper,’ a plant with exceptional traits that will be selected for preservation and further development. This meticulous process is a fundamental step in our ongoing mission to produce top-shelf genetics.
