Who Can Access Medical Marijuana In Louisiana?
To be eligible for Louisiana’s medical marijuana program, you need to be 21 years or older.
How Do You Get Medical Marijuana in Louisiana?
Louisiana doesn’t have a traditional medical cannabis card system, but the process for access is very similar to other states. It all starts with an appointment in an office or by telemedicine.
Authorized doctors, nurse practitioners, and medical psychologists can certify medical marijuana patients.
If the doctor believes that medical cannabis can benefit you, the doctor will certify your status and forward your confirmation to a licensed medical marijuana pharmacy of your choosing.
Because Louisiana does not provide medical marijuana identification cards, the authorized clinician is responsible for confirming your certification with the pharmacy. Once that process is complete, you will be able to visit the pharmacy and check in with your state ID.
What Are the Qualifying Conditions for Louisiana’s Medical Marijuana Program?
Louisiana regulations allow for authorized clinician to certify medical marijuana access for any condition that the clinician believes would be helped by cannabis.

How Much Cannabis Can Louisiana Medical Marijuana Patients Buy?
Certified patients can buy up to 2.5 ounces of flower per 14 days from Louisiana’s medical cannabis pharmacies.
